Hello Kitty-Kats! I may be a little late with this, but today I am going to show y’all what I got in my July Birchbox (purchased by me). I have been getting birchbox every month for over a year; it was my first subscription box and is still one of my favorites! It’s a great deal, and the samples are always high quality products. So, let’s get on with it already!
Recently, Birchbox changed their logo, and I like it. I liked the previous one too, but this one is a little simpler.
This month’s theme is “Power Play”, and the products received are supposed to help you take control of the situation. I like the theme, and I think that the products in my box fit it for the most part.
I always like BirchBox’s information cards. On one side the explain the theme, and the other side they list the products. They also give the retail price for full size, and explain a little about what each product is and how you can use it. Hey, the more info, the better, IMO!
Ahh, This is what I saw after I took out the info card. Not too much to see yet.
Thats better! Now it looks like the box full of goodies that it is. I love how they package their boxes, it always looks so nice. Plus, there’s always the little pouch to open up!
Now, since I know this is what yall came here for, let’s get on with what is actually in this box!
This is pretty much just a promotion for Benefit’s new primer, Stay Flawless 15-hour Primer. It sounds like a great product, so if I ever feel the need for a primer, this might just be the one I try.
On the back of the card is two scratch off areas, kinda like a lotto ticket.
When scratched off (and use a coin, not your nail!), the card reveals two codes for a couple of Benefit’s best-selling products. One is for a mini-size of their Cha Cha Tint, and the other is for a mini-size of Sunbeam. To use them, just enter the code at checkout when purchasing 25$ or more from Benefit. I actually don’t have either of these, though I do have the original Benetint, Posie Tint, and Moonbeam. If I purchase a Benefit product, I will definitely use this!
I always enjoy getting travel size products, that way when I’m traveling, I can take them with me instead of lugging around huge bottles of product. (MALIN+GOETZ) is a really good brand for body products, so I am excited about this body wash. Plus, I love the smell of bergamot, it’s a nice light citrus.
CC creams are still new for me. I just recently jumped on the BB cream bandwagon, so I’m pretty excited to try out a CC cream. They are supposed to help with evening out skin discoloration and skin tone, which I don’t really have an issue with, but Im sure it won’t hurt. I really like that this is a high SPF since a lot of BB creams and tinted moisturizers are around SPF 15 or 20. This also the “Suits Pick”, which is cool since BirchBox partnered with the TV show for this box.
Oooh, a face mist. I love these, even though I don’t use them that often. I have started using a spritz of one on my beauty blender when I apply my makeup. They also are great for cooling off when the weather is killer hot outside. You could also use a facial mist for setting makeup.
Ah, the pouch. It’s like a gift inside a gift. This is part of what makes Birchbox so nice, especially for the price. You can tell they care about how everything looks! The pouch itself was also a promotion this month, advertising a makeup bag from clothing company Tibi. You can buy it in the Birchbox shop for 28$, or get it free buy spending 65$ or more.
Now, let’s get back to the important stuff: what actually came in the pouch!
These are so cute! I love the pattern on them. I don’t use hair pins very often, but I might make an effort just so I can wear these! These were also this month’s “Beauty Extra”. Beauty Extras are great, but I also like receiving lifestyle extras too. I haven’t gotten one of those in awhile, so switch it up Birchbox!
This is a serum that is supposed to strengthen hair, making it healthier and shinier. I think it is actually a light weight oil, but I can’t remember if I have tried it before. I do think I have tried the damage reverse(TM) shampoo and conditioner, and I liked that. I’ll try and do a product review on those soon. I’ve also tried ojon’s rare oil, which I do like (product review on this too soon!).
The product came in a small vial, kinda like one for a perfume sample. I do think there is enough for me to test it out atleast twice, depending on how much I use. People with shorter or finer hair than me would probably be able to get more uses out of it. It’s always hard for me to tell before I actually use it though, so who knows how many uses I’ll get out of it!
There was also another card at the bottom of my box promoting the TV show Suits, which airs at 10/9c on USA (not pictured). On the opposite side, Birchbox lists their favorite “Power Players”, products they claim are “Suits-inspired”. Whats funny is that I did not receive any of the products listed in this months box. Oh well! Lol.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this month’s box. I can find a use for each product, which is great at the 10$ price point of the box. If you are considering getting your own Birchbox, I highly recommend signing up!
I will post full reviews on these products in the near future, once I have tested them out. Don’t forget to come back to BellaRose Beauty Kitty-Kats to check them out, plus all the other great stuff I have coming soon! Now I’m off to do my nails!
